Winter Footfall

by Tamal Chowdhury

I found this place back in 2017 while trying to find a suitable location. I don’t know the exact name of the village, but the place is near to Habra. This is a narrow village road with large trees lined by. On our first visit, we found a village woman walking through this road with some ducks. I revisited the place just to take that shot on a foggy morning, and that’s when I took this shot. The morning was quite foggy with very low visibility and the trees by this narrow road made a great moody atmosphere to shoot.

A private tutor and wedding photographer from Ashoknagar in West Bengal, India, Tamal started photography back in 2014 with a Fujifilm Bridge camera. Back then he wished to shoot only birds but when he bought his first DSLR in 2015 he slowly took up an interest in shooting rural landscapes, people’s lives and livelihood. Live in a town surrounded by some small villages within cycling distance has allowed him to shot these kind of images.
