Diwali, or Dipawali, is India’s biggest and most important festival celebrated one day prior in West Bengal and other Eastern India as Kalipuja. The festival gets its name from the row of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. I shot this image at a rural village of South West Bengal, Canning, India where children were enjoying their evening with crackers.
An IT professional and passionate photographer from a small village of West Bengal, India has been traveling all over Bengal and expanded his travels to many countries. He is currently staying in Edinburgh but still misses his roots, colors, and cultures of West Bengal which gives him immense pleasure to capture and showcase his work related to Bengal in front of the whole world.
