Celebrating Diwali
by Subhajit Sen
Diwali, or Dipawali, is India’s biggest and most important festival celebrated one day prior in West Bengal and other Eastern India as Kalipuja. The festival gets its name from the row of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. I shot this image at a rural village of South West Bengal, Canning, India where children were enjoying their evening with crackers.
